Tomorrow is my K's b-day. As fitting for a Junebug, my K has an addiction to strawberries. So that is what he is getting – strawberry jam, strawberry shortcake, strawberry salad, strawberry syrup – it is all strawberries, all the time in this Harlem household. The apartment smells of rhubarb and fresh fruit, the World Cup matches are all programmed in on the DVR and, if we are lucky, the heavens will clear long enough for an after-work rooftop champagne toast.
